I am a licensed psychotherapist specializing in trauma recovery, addiction, and the lasting impacts of growing up in dysfunctional family systems. With licenses in both Maryland (LCPC, LCADC) and Arizona (LPC), I bring twenty years of experience to my work with adult clients seeking healing and personal growth.
My approach primarily integrates evidence-based modalities, including EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and sandtray therapy, to create a comprehensive healing experience. I also use Motivational Interviewing, particularly in addiction work, and draw from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and supportive counseling approaches, when beneficial. This flexible, integrative approach allows me to tailor therapy to each client’s unique needs and goals. This combination allows us to address not just cognitive patterns, but also the deeper emotional and somatic aspects of healing that talk therapy alone might not reach.
My journey to becoming a therapist began with a master’s degree in pastoral counseling from Loyola University Maryland. While my educational background includes this spiritual dimension, my practice welcomes clients of all beliefs, backgrounds, and identities, and spirituality is only brought into therapy if the client requests it. I value creating an inclusive, affirming space where everyone feels welcomed and respected.
Before establishing my private practice in 2007, I worked as a psychotherapist and addictions counselor at Chrysalis House, a residential treatment program for women with addictions. I started my work there as an intern, then was hired after my internship ended. The experience I gained at Chrysalis House equipped me to help clients in all stages and with all aspects of addiction. This background also gives me a unique perspective on the ways that life experiences and family dynamics contribute to struggles with addiction and unhealthy patterns of thinking and behavior.

As someone who specializes in working with Adult Children of Alcoholics and people who struggle with codependency, I understand the complex ways that growing up in chaotic environments can shape your relationships, self-concept, and life choices. My own healing journey informs my compassionate, non-judgmental approach to helping clients untangle these patterns and develop healthier ways of relating to themselves and others.
When I’m not in session, you might find me at a Baltimore Orioles baseball game. I have two degrees in music and still enjoy playing the flute. I also love reading and puzzles of all kinds. And, of course, I love animals, including my unofficial therapy dog, Lilo, and my cats, Loki and Jenna.
I believe that healing happens in relationship, and I’m committed to creating a therapeutic environment where you feel safe, seen, and supported as you work toward the life and relationships you deserve.
