Meet Lilo, My Unofficial Therapy Dog
When you visit my home office for therapy, you’ll likely be greeted by Lilo, my sweet and gentle unofficial therapy dog. While Lilo doesn’t have formal therapy dog training or certification, she brings natural warmth, comfort, and moments of joy to the therapeutic process for my clients.
Lilo’s Role
Unlike formal therapy animals, Lilo’s contribution to the therapeutic environment happens naturally and organically. She doesn’t perform specific interventions, but instead creates moments of connection, comfort, and occasional cuddles that many clients find enhance their therapy experience.

Lilo’s Presence in Our Therapy Space
Lilo is a rescue dog with attachment-related anxiety; she is always present in the therapy office during sessions. She’s an integral part of our therapy environment, offering her natural warmth and comfort to the process.
If you aren’t comfortable around dogs, I can ensure that Lilo doesn’t directly interact with you during our sessions. However, she will remain in the room as a quiet presence. Understanding this before scheduling in-person therapy helps ensure our environment will work for your needs.
It’s also worth noting that I have two cats (Loki and Jenna, pictured below) who may occasionally appear in the office or waiting area. While they’re not typically present during sessions, clients with cat allergies should be aware of their potential presence in the space.
If you have significant concerns about dogs or cats that might impact your comfort, please remember that online therapy is always an option. Virtual sessions can be an excellent alternative for those who would benefit from our work together, but who prefer not to navigate a space with pets.
